- Welcome: The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting and made reference to the handout of the order of business that had been circulated to the public. Those present were: Neil Johnston (NJ) – Chair, John Stockley (JS) – Vice-Chair, Ann Myles (AM) – Treasurer, Colin Young (CY) – Secretary, Tony Fitzpatrick (TF), Scott Jeffery (SJ), Ally Dewar (AD), Councillor Steven Carr (SC), Councillor Keith Allan (KA), Councillor Crawford Reid (CR) and members of the public.
- Apologies: Lori Corbet Mann
- Update from Police: No officers were available but members continue to receive the weekly bulletin from the Local Area Commander by email.
- Minutes of the meeting of 1st May 2023: These were agreed and signed by the Chair.
- Treasurer’s Report: AM presented the monthly report and this was agreed.
- Matters arising from the Minutes:
- Football Posts – KA had been successful in securing a new set of football posts from Community Greenspace and these would be erected over the next few weeks. JS reported that he had identified a set of 7-a-side posts but had no information on the timescale for the arrival of these.
- Parking – KA reported that PKC officers were keen to have a date for a walk through of the parking proposals but asked the Cc for a suitable date. It was agreed that this would be Tuesday 27th June at 2pm in Tron Square.
- Core Path beside Sewerage Treatment Plant – A member of the public had been contacted by Scottish Water with the news that they were now consulting SEPA with regard to the replacement of the broken gabions that support this path but that there was no timescale available yet.
- Phone Box – AD reported that QTS were ready to paint this item but wished to know if the colour should be changed to green as this was the norm for telephone boxes containing defibrillators. This colour was agreed and the work will be carried out soon.
- Community Needs Assessment Plan – This had been passed to PKC but was not currently a priority for them. SC pointed out that the contractors would only visit a location to install several drop kerbs so it was essential to identify the most needy locations. Action: KA/JS/TF
- LAP funding – NJ reported that the Scouts had been successful in securing funding for the navigational equipment they required.
- St Serf’s Church Wall – The condition continues to deteriorate and needs attention. Action: KA
- Station Road leaves on footpath – CY reported that this had been passed to PKC but without any timescale for action.
- Planning Matters
- Agricultural shed 200 yards SE of Yard on Yetts Road
- Alterations and extension to Whitemoss Lodge
- Alterations and extension to 3 Croft Place
- Service building and holiday accommodation to Whitemoss Lodge
- Roads Matters
- SC reported that the drains in Tron Square will be cleaned out soon as they are very badly choked with material and likely to cause a problem after heavy rain.
- Correspondence
- DCC Messenger had received a message about a young man who was attacked in Kincladie Wood by a dog. While he had heard the name of the dog, he had no idea of the owner’s name but the matter had been passed on to the PKC Dog Warden and Police Scotland.
- Meeting Attended: Nothing to report.
- Councillors’ Reports:
- SC had attended Little Dunning Market and wished to congratulate the organisers and stall holders for a great event that everyone seemed to be enjoying.
- Any Other Business:
- AD reported on the activities of the Community Service Volunteers who had been very busy in the village with the cemetery gates, church gates and bridge railing all having been painted. They will continue to get the seats and benches repaired and painted/treated and are doing a great job to improve our surroundings.
- JS reported that QTS had installed a water barrel in the cemetery to help water flowers and the newly laid turf.
- Am reported that the DCC stall had taken in £261.50 at Little Dunning Market and thanked all those who had helped, and this money would go towards the Over 80s Christmas Lunch.
- It was reported that St. Johnstone have 5-a-side games around the area on Friday nights and might be encouraged to come to Dunning when the new football posts are erected.
- The footbridge at Lower Granco was reported as having a loose step but PKC are attending to this problem in the near future.
- It was asked if the draft Minutes for April could be put on Dunning Folk & Friends Facebook page and this will be done along with the May Minutes. Action: CY
- The recent exhibition on the Brunt Hill Wind Farm had shown the proposed location of the 26 turbines in the Ochils. Those holding the exhibition did not appear to have a great deal of knowledge about the area but as this proposal is only at the ‘scoping’ stage, more detail will emerge if they submit a planning application to the Scottish Government.
- NJ reminded everyone that the ‘Big Place Conversation’ will be held on Saturday 10th June 2023 from1pm to 4pm in the Village Hall and that this is the opportunity to raise issues of importance with PKC.
The next meeting will be held on Monday 3rd July 2023 at 7.30pm in Dunning Village Hall
